The Acai (açaí) Palm is a tree that grows in the North of Brazil – the Amazon Rain Forest. Acai has been used as a traditional food for several centuries by the native people living there. Recently Acai is recognized for its functional properties for use in food and nutraceuticals. Acai has many properties both known and unknown that have proved to be helpful in maintaining health.

The Acai plant has been used for centuries as a natural energy booster and to increase stamina. It is a powerhouse of nutrients and packed with vitamins. It provides minerals such as calcium, potassium, phosphorus and essential fatty acids – the Omega 3, 6 and 9, recently much in the news. It is known to be used traditionally and topically as a strong antibacterial mix. Acai Palm Trees are not harmed in any way when the Acai Berries are harvested. Indigenous people of the Amazon Rainforest make more money harvesting Acai than chopping down trees for lumber.
